Erin Rist (she/her) is a strategist focused on philanthropic initiatives in STEM and biomedical research. As the Founder of Science Impact, she works with leading foundations todesign impactful funding strategies, drive collaborative science projects, and cultivateprograms that advance the frontiers of human health and innovation. A strong advocatefor open science, Erin collaborates with global research communities to fostertransparency, data sharing, and inclusive scientific practices—championing efforts suchas common data standards and the use of preprints—that accelerate meaningfulprogress in research.
Previously, she led strategic partnerships and operations at the Chan ZuckerbergInitiative (CZI), where she worked with leadership to establish the organization’s globalprograms, priorities, and vision for its science philanthropy portfolio. Prior to CZI, Erinheld leadership roles at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT and at the Salk Institute,advancing initiatives that spanned cutting-edge science and policy, including work withPresident Obama’s Council on Science and Technology at the White House.
Erin holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from the MIT SloanSchool of Management, and a BA in Politics and Legal Studies from the University ofCalifornia, Santa Cruz.
